Intel is preparing to shelve the Core i3, i5, i7 and i9 scheme that has been around for a long time. So much so that recently, the company officially confirmed the product name change. Today, images containing the new product names for the 14th generation Meteor Lake processors have been leaked. So which processors does the product name change cover? Here are the details.

Core i3, i5, i7 and i9 processors are shelved

Looking at the images from Intel, we see that the upcoming Meteor Lake processors will be showcased in two different variants, mainstream and premium. At this point, the mainstream processors will be divided as Core 3, Core 5 and Core 7, while the names Core Ultra 5, Core Ultra 7 and Ultra 9 will be used in the premium segment.

Also, interestingly, Core i3 and i9 brands will now be found in the same series. The final names of the processors are yet to be determined. However, it is clearly stated that the new naming scheme will start with the “Meteor Lake” series and Ultra will appear in the second half of this year.

For a while, we see that 14th generation mobile processors, called Core Ultra, are listed under different names such as “10XX” or “11XX”. As far as these leaks are concerned, the next-gen mobile lineup will not be officially part of the “14th Gen Core” family. Behind this may be the artificial intelligence VPU design, which will be made available with Forveros 3D Packaging technology.
