Control, which was released in August 2019 and swept away the most prestigious awards in the gaming world, is back with the long-awaited announcement today. The developer of the game, Remedy Games, has officially announced its sequel, Control 2.
In the statement shared by Remedy Games, it was stated that an agreement was signed between the developer company and the publisher of the game, 505 Games. Under this agreement, the two companies will jointly develop and publish Control 2.
When will Control 2 come?
In the announcement shared by Remedy, there was no detail about when Control 2 will be released. However, it is not known when the development of the game will begin. So if we consider the development process of a AAA game, we can expect the new game to be released in 2026 at the earliest.
For which platforms will Control 2 be developed?
Control 2 will be released for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S game consoles.
The cost of the game in the first stage has also been announced!
Remedy announced that they allocated a budget of 50 million euros for the development of Control 2 in the first stage, in the announcement shared with the investors. The company shared that the rights of the game will also belong to Remedy. On the other hand, it was stated that all net income from the game will be shared 50/50 between Remedy and 505.
The first game of the series, Control, was developed in three years with a budget of 30 million euros.
