Conspiracy theories went crazy again: Why can we see the Moon during the day?

Another conspiracy theory: Is there really something behind seeing the moon during the day? How come we can see the Moon during the day?

Have you ever wondered why the Moon can be seen in the sky during the daytime? Interestingly, some people believe that this is a behavior that the Moon has just started doing. And naturally, a new conspiracy theory is born.

Stew Peters, a right-wing broadcaster and conspiracy theorist in the US, shared somewhat dramatically on X what he believed to be evidence of a new event: “The full moon appears at midday. “This wasn’t supposed to happen.” Besides the surprising number of reshares of a normal low-res image of the Moon, other users also agree that there is something wrong in the sky.

“I’ve been noticing this for a few years,” one user said, before evoking a second conspiracy theory. “I walk three times a day and in the morning and until late in the morning I always see the moon on one side and the sun on the other,” he replied and added: “There is something very artificial going on here. The sun is now white, not yellow like in our childhood. The moon shines like a lantern, it doesn’t look real. We must definitely question what is going on in our skies! Not to mention all the chemical traces.”

Although this conspiracy theory has been circulating on the Internet for a while, no, the color of the Sun has not changed. It still has the same color as it had many years ago, but when you were younger the Sun may have appeared more yellow than it actually was due to higher pollution in the air. As for the Moon, our natural satellite is always visible during the day, although it appears brighter at night due to the lack of competing light, but for a few days surrounding the new Moon period it is invisible due to the more effective competition of the Sun’s diffuse light.

If you look at a short video or a drawing showing the orbit of the Moon and the rotation of the Earth, the situation will be seen much more clearly.

The Moon reflects sunlight to Earth during most of the day and night during most of its phases. This is not something out of the ordinary or evidence of some kind of conspiracy causing the Moon to move, the Moon continues to orbit as it always has. You may just need to spend a little more time looking at the sky in between, perhaps a little more carefully than usual.
