One of the key differences between Apple’s MacBook Air and MacBook Pro series: the display. The MacBook Air, which is currently on sale, has only a 13.3-inch screen, while the dimensions of the Pro can go up to 16 inches. This forces those who do not like 13 inches to buy Pro by paying too much money.

Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC), known for its reports on Apple’s devices, said this week that the company is working on a MacBook Air model with a 15-inch display. While DSCC stated that the laptop will be released in 2023, another claim about the same device came from Ming-Chi Kuo.

The device may not be named MacBook Air

Famous Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo shared his predictions about the 15-inch laptop that Apple will launch in 2023. Stating that the device will go into mass production in the fourth quarter of 2023 unless there is a setback, Ming-Chi Kuo said that the computer will use the same 30W power adapter as the current MacBook Air.

Kuo also mentioned the 15-inch MacBook Air’s mentioned in DSCC’s report. Contrary to the information that the incoming will arrive in 2023, he stated that the device may not come with the “Air” tag. Although this claim brings to mind the possibility of a MacBook Pro, Ming-Chi Kuo does not say such a thing. And that’s “will there be a new MacBook model coming?” begs the question.

On the other hand, according to 9to5Mac’s reports, Apple may remove the “Pro” tag from the MacBook Pro model with the M2 chip, which is expected to be introduced this year. Considering all these claims, it seems that the MacBook series is pregnant with major changes.

Apple used the name “MacBook” for some of its laptops in the past. However, this strategy has ended, and the last MacBook to go on sale without any jewelry was the 12-inch model, which was discontinued in 2019.
