A rival to Apple Vision Pro is coming from Samsung
It was revealed that Samsung was trying to register a new AR/VR headset within the scope of its applications to the UK Intellectual Property Office. The model, listed on the platform with the trademark number ‘UK00003947958’, will apparently bear the name ‘Samsung Glasses’. However, it is unclear whether the company will keep the same title at the time of the official announcement. This name Niketim may cause confusion among users.
It is also stated that the trademark application was made on November 10 and mass production will start in December. If we recall, previous reports were that the AR headset was postponed to December 2023 and would be introduced in the second half of 2024. New information confirms this. However, Samsung is targeting an extremely low initial shipment volume of 30,000 units. This figure is well below the 600,000 stated for Apple Vision Pro.
It is currently unclear what Samsung’s XR glasses will offer. However, since it will be aimed at XR technology, we can say that it will come with features similar to Vision Pro. However, let us remind you that there is no official statement from the company.
