Microsoft told the UK Competition and Markets Authority CMA that Sony has more and better quality exclusives for PlayStation than Microsoft has for Xbox. Thus, Microsoft acknowledges that Sony’s PlayStation-exclusive games are better than Microsoft’s Xbox-exclusives.
According to the latest data, the average score for the top 20 PlayStation-exclusive games is 87/100, while the average score for Xbox-exclusive games is 80 out of 100.
In addition to having better ratings, PlayStation-exclusive games share 20 percent of total sales, while Xbox-exclusive games drop to 10 percent. The numbers also show a parallel with in-game purchases.
Meanwhile, Microsoft reiterated that it will not pull Activision games from PlayStation. Whatever Microsoft says about it, the CMA is still worried about this possibility. To help quell the fears of the CMA, Microsoft says it will continue to produce great games that still have great appeal for Sony, even if it will make some Activision games exclusive to Xbox.
Activision Blizzard is the producer of famous games such as Overwatch, Diablo, Call of Duty, World of Warcraft, Candy Crush and StarCraft. The UK has decided to review the acquisition of Activision by Microsoft, while several countries, including Brazil and Saudi Arabia, have given permission for the deal to continue.
