Starting a new era with the Snapdragon 8 series, Qualcomm has started working on a mid-upper segment processor. The architectural features of the Snapdragon 7 series, which will be the rival of the Dimensity 8000 family, have been leaked.
Qualcomm and MediaTek released their first processors produced with 4nm technology. Features of Qualcomm’s processor to be used in mid-upper segment devices have emerged.
Adreno 662 graphics interface will be used in Snapdragon 7
It is estimated that the first model of the new processor family will be called Gen 1 as in the flagship model. It is among the leaked information that the Adreno 662 graphics interface will be used on the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor.
It should be noted that the Adreno 662 graphic interface has not been introduced yet. The Adreno 660 graphical interface was produced using Samsung’s 5nm technology. It is estimated that the new model will be produced by TSMC with 4nm. Vulkan 1.1, DirectX 12, OpenGL ES 3.2, and OpenCL 2.0 FP in the new graphics interface. Furthermore, it is stated that HDR1 Plus and Dolby Vision technologies will take place.
Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor will use 4 ARM Cortex-A710 and 4 ARM Cortex-A510 cores. The ARM Cortex-A710 core, produced with the Armv9 architecture, has about 10 percent higher performance than the Cortex-A78 core. The Cortex-A710, which is 30 percent more efficient than the Cortex-A78 core, exceeds expectations.
