The Competition Authority made an important statement about technology giant Google. Authorities announced that the company was found to be acting anti-competitively, and an investigation was launched as a result. The Competition Authority accuses Google of violating Article 6 of Law No. 4054.
In Article 6 of the Law No. 4054, “It is illegal and prohibited for one or more undertakings to abuse their dominant position in a good or service market in the whole or in a part of the country, either alone or through agreements with others or jointly.” statements are included. In parallel with this, it is stated in the statement made by the Competition Authority that Google has made itself advantageous.
The statement made by the Competition Authority is as follows:
Alphabet Inc., Google LLC, Google International LLC, Google Ireland Limited and Google Advertising and Marketing Ltd. Ltd. Şti. has been concluded by the Competition Board on the allegation that the economic integrity violated Article 6 of the Law No. 4054, with regard to the activities of online display advertising and advertising technology services.
Discussing the information, documents and findings obtained in the preliminary research at its meeting dated 18.05.2023, the Competition Board found the findings serious and sufficient; In order to determine whether it violates Article 6 of Law No. 4054; Alphabet Inc., Google LLC, Google International LLC, Google Ireland Limited and Google Advertising and Marketing Ltd. Şti., with the number 23-23/432-M, to open an investigation about the economic integrity.
