The Internet Archive has once again launched a huge collection of software that you can instantly play in any web browser, including your touchscreen phone. Currently, the collection includes a total of 565 classic Palm apps, including games, widgets, and even free trials from both grayscale and color eras.
We can easily say that this collection is much more than individual applications. Every bootup loads the entire Palm OS, all default apps (like the calculator and memo pad) and a working Graffiti touchscreen typing system are available. You can use your 2022 model mobile phone as if it were a 1996 model pocket computer and completely without any problems. This is a small interactive window that lets you take a peek at the pre-iPhone era and pre-app stores.
Archivist and historian Jason Scott thanked both its developer, Christian Speckner, and the previous POSE emulator for their work, while telling The Verge that the current CloudPilot emulator took only six months to be ready for embed.
