Coinbase was informed by a white line hacker that their system was vulnerable.
Coinbase, one of the largest crypto asset trading platforms in the USA, received a message from a Twitter user @Tree_of_Alpha that their system was vulnerable and a HackerOne report was sent. The company has temporarily suspended operations on the new Advanced Trading platform after this message. HackerOne is a bug bounty platform for companies.
Then around 2pm, the Coinbase Support account tweeted that transactions were reactivated on the platform. Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong was also involved and commended the hacker for his goodwill:
.@Tree_of_Alpha you're awesome – a big thank you for working with our team
love how the crypto community helps each other out!
