Coinbase, the largest US crypto-asset trading platform, will request additional information from its users in Canada, Japan and Singapore.
Coinbase has announced that it will seek additional information from some of its customers in Canada, Japan and Singapore as part of compliance with local regulations. According to the statement in the official blog post, users living in these countries will be required to disclose certain information such as name, address when sending crypto assets to another financial institution or crypto platform. The statement in the official blog post reads:
Application from April 1 for users from Japan and Singapore; For Canadian users, it will be available from April 4th.
