Cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase is expanding its services in the country by designating Australia as a “priority market”.

In addition to the improvements it has made for its individual customers, the company has introduced a new feature so that they can easily transfer Australian dollars to their Coinbase accounts.

Coinbase Says Australia Is a Priority Market

Coinbase, the largest US crypto exchange, stated in its blog post that Australia is a priority market for them.

The company announced that it is collaborating with local payment platform PayID so that locals can easily transfer Australian dollars to Coinbase. While PayID offers its customers better pricing with advanced trading tools, it also allows its customers to solve their problems with its 24/7 call center.

The exchange has however registered with the Australian Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (AUSTRAC) to operate in the country. John O’Loghlen, formerly regional manager at Ant Group, was hired to head Coinbase Australia in July.

The exchange also announced that it has invested in Australian-based crypto firms such as ImmutableX, CoFiX, Synthetix, Block Earner and CryptoTaxCalculator.
