Cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase has appointed long-time Goldman Sachs Roger Bartlett to head its financial operations.
According to LinkedIn post, Bartlett is leaving his job at the world-renowned investment bank to run global financial operations at Coinbase.
Bartlett most recently served as co-head of global operations for Goldman Sachs’ global markets division. The senior manager was leading a team of approximately 2,500 people.
Bartlett, who has worked at the investment bank for 16 years, announced that he moved to Coinbase and said, “It’s time to embrace the crypto economy.”
Coinbase announced yesterday that it generated $2.5 billion in revenue in the fourth quarter of 2021. The crypto exchange also made its aggressive growth policy clear, announcing that they plan to spend $4.25 billion to $5.25 billion this year on technology/development and general and administrative expenses.
