Cloudflare announced that this attack received 26 million requests per second. These requests, sent by malicious people, were detected in a short time.
It was determined that the sources of the attacks came from a total of 121 countries, mainly Indonesia, the USA, Brazil and Russia. Cloudflare means that the attacks are orchestrated over HTTPS, which means it costs more money to initiate and prevent attacks. 3 percent of the attacks were carried out over Tor connections. Cloudflare reported that as few customers as possible were affected by the attack and that the attack was noticed and necessary measures were taken in a short time.
