Clearesult set a new standard for the power efficiency of data centers
Data centers, which have a critical role for the world of technology, will become even more important in the coming period. Because the need for data centers will increase in order to develop and to use the rapidly widespread artificial intelligence technologies. For this reason, countries like the United States and China make serious investments in this area. If you remember, one of the first projects announced by Trump after taking office was the $ 500 billion Stargate project, which envisages the establishment of new data centers in the USA.

The fact that the need for data centers will gradually increases means that these centers, which have high energy consumption, will need even more energy in the coming period. The rate of data centers responsible for 0.4 percent of electricity consumption in the United States in total consumption will be between 6.7 %and 12 %in 2028. The impact of such an increase on the environment is concern. Therefore, it is of great importance to increase energy efficiency to the optimum level in data centers.

Clearesult introduced high efficiency certificate 80 Plus Ruby

Clearesult, the number one reference point of North American companies on energy efficiency and sustainability solutions, has set a new standard of energy efficiency for data centers, taking into account this change. The company introduced 80 Plus Ruby, the highest efficiency certificate for server power supplies (PSU).

Since the standards set by Clearesult in the 80 Plus program are referenced by many companies operating in this field, this new standard is thought to be the new target point of the sector in energy efficiency. “We have received three certificates and see the value of 80 Plus Ruby certificates. This provides an efficiency standard that the entire sector can rely on.” says.

The 80 Plus Ruby certificate will be given to PSUs that provide 96.5 percent efficiency in 230V, 277V, 480V AC-DC and 380V DC voltages at a 50 %load in accordance with global data center standards. In order to obtain the certificate, at least 90 %of the load levels of 5 %, 10 %, 20 %, 50 %and 100 %are required to provide efficiency.

The 80 Plus program also takes into account the efficiency of PSUs at low loads. In this context, 90 percent efficiency is required at a 5 %load. Thus, it is aimed to provide high efficiency even at low power levels. This will reduce unnecessary energy waste and increase operational productivity, especially in selected power supplies on the redundant working servers and capacity.

The 80 Plus program is of great importance to capture the standards set, not only to reduce energy costs but also to comply with the frameworks set by legal regulations. Because as the energy consumption of data centers increases, it is thought that the regulations for these centers will become more tightened; Especially in regions such as European knowledge. As a matter of fact, we see that steps have been taken in this direction.
