While Google’s new flagship phones, the Pixel 7 series, are eagerly awaited, new leaks continue to come every day. Finally, we shared with you the claims about the screen features of the Pixel 7 series and some features specific to Pixel 7 Pro.
A post that emerged on Twitter today caused a stir. Twitter user named Soulpee claimed that his friend ordered a Pixel 6 Pro, but that the Pixel 7 Pro was sent “by a shipping mistake”. Let’s take a closer look at this interesting event.
Claimed to have Pixel 7 Pro
Twitter user Soulpee said that about 2 months ago, a friend ordered a second-hand Pixel 6 Pro via Facebook, but the phone that came a month ago is the Pixel 7 Pro, which has not yet been released. As you can see above, the phone is quite different from the Pixel 6 Pro in many ways. Users also thought it was a ‘shipping-related’ error.
However, according to Soulpee’s claim, his friend’s fun with the Pixel 7 Pro was short-lived because Google removed Android 13 from the phone by sending a remote wipe command to the phone. Now the phone is almost unusable as it is stuck in a bootloader mode.
Soulpee and her friend, who reported the incident to XDA, came across an interesting request. Soulpee took the photo you see above and forwarded it to XDA to convince XDA that the phone is real. On the small note on the phone, it says “Not Fake”, that is, “Not Fake”, along with the date and model of the phone.
Now let’s take a closer look at the photos…
In the first photo taken by Soulpee, we see that the back cover of the phone has a very matte and patterned structure. In the second photo, the back of the phone, which is claimed to be the Pixel 7 Pro, has a very shiny structure. However, this is not the only difference between the two photos. The aspect ratios of the two phones are also quite different from each other. One is shorter and wider, while the other is longer and thinner.
Moreover, it is clearly understood that the camera modules are different. Soulpee’s sharing of two different photos raises a lot of suspicion. However, the fact that the phone is said to be purchased via Facebook greatly reduces the possibility of a phone that has not been released yet to be sent in this way by mistake.
Of course, if we were all the first to hold a phone that has not been released, we would probably share it right away on our social media accounts. However, Soulpee says he made this post ‘1 month after owning the phone’. So, do you think one of these phones could be the new Pixel 7 Pro? What do you think about it?
