While promises of easy and hassle-free earnings cause more and more citizens to be defrauded, another remarkable claim has come to the fore today. It has been claimed that the initiative called ‘Income Guarantee’, which promises high income with the promise of rapid growth to those who want to enter e-commerce, has been lost.
The said initiative promised to open sales accounts abroad on behalf of users in return for a certain amount of money, and to make sales through methods such as drop-shipping. But users began to report complaints about the system.
Stores opened on behalf of some people were closed:
According to the information conveyed by many people who were previously involved in the system, these people claimed that they started to lose varying amounts every month while waiting to profit from their investment. Moreover, the stores opened on behalf of some people were closed on the grounds that the products were delivered to the wrong address, indifference and non-compliance with e-commerce rules.
Complaining users stated that when they went to the headquarters in Şişli to meet with the company one-on-one, they could not find any contact person. Some explanations came from the employees in charge about the situation:
“We did not dream like that, people became victims. They did not make promises to people when the economic picture was in the middle.”
Between 3 and 5 thousand dollars was collected from more than 500 people:
Allegedly, the startup gathered customers by sharing revenues on its social media accounts. More than 500 people joined the system with 3 to 5 thousand dollars per person and defined their credit cards in the system. It was stated that the total amount collected was more than 2 million dollars.
Investigation started:
Many people who complained about the Income Guarantee initiative filed criminal complaints against company executives and representatives, including EK, S.Ö., GY, D,Ö., ED, TV, DO, AY, DT and DV. The Gulf Criminal Judgeship of Peace initiated an investigation and decided to take a statement about EK or to arrest him.
