James Cameron’s Avatar: The Way of Water has finally been released in the past months, after 13 years. The production, which took place 10 years after the first film, broke box office records as expected, becoming the third most successful film of all time. As this is the case, the excitement for the 3 new Avatar movies to be released in the future has increased.

We expect the third Avatar movie to be released in 2024. Although it is not yet known exactly what he will tell, it has been announced that the shooting of this highly anticipated film has been completed. Today, some surprising new claims have surfaced about Avatar 3.

Allegedly, a 9-hour version of Avatar 3 could be released as a mini-series on Disney+ after the movie

According to a claim made in The Hot Mic podcast, organized by Jeff Sneider, known for his cinematic writings, with John Rocha, James Cameron delivered a nine-hour version of Avatar 3, whose shooting was completed, to the production company 20th Century Studios. It was also claimed that Cameron wanted visual effects to be added to the entire nine-hour segment.

Of course, not all of this will come to theaters as the final version. The team will shorten the film to make it suitable for a 2024 release. It is also a matter of curiosity how much the 9-hour cut will be shortened. As it is known, the Avatar series is known for its very long films with a duration of 2 hours 42 minutes and 3 hours 12 minutes. This claim also shows that the third film may be too long again.

So why does Cameron want visual effects added to the entire recording? This is the most striking part of the claim that Sneider made in his program. Allegedly, the purpose of this is to air the 9-hour version as a mini-series on Disney+ after the cinema. In other words, there is a possibility that we will see a version of the version that we will see in the cinema, including extended and deleted scenes, on Disney +.

Of course, it should be reiterated that these are all allegations and not based on any official information. We will see how to follow the path in Avatar 3, which is eagerly awaited by the fans of the series. However, we can be sure that the third movie will be at least as long as the first two.
