Citi’s co-chairman of digital assets, Alex Kriete, is leaving the company to start a crypto venture.

Kriete, who has worked at Citi for more than 11 years, is leaving the company. Kriete said in a post he shared on LinkedIn on March 10 that he would be leaving Citi to start a new company in the crypto industry. The post reads:
“Unsurprisingly for those who know me, I believe that digital assets will continue to grow in importance for global capital markets and the formation of new business models, and I could not be more excited to help this market mature. ”
Kriete was appointed head of the company’s newly formed digital assets division last June, along with Greg Girasole.
