Cities Skylines, the first game that comes to mind when it comes to building and managing a city, has finally come to an end after 8 years, 12 million downloads, 50 additional packages and thousands of community add-ons. However, of course, Paradox Interactive, the producer of the game, did not let such a legend fall into the dusty shelves of history and announced the sequel to the series with a surprise statement today.

While the first announcement of Cities Skylines 2 was made with a short video, it was stated that more information about the game will be announced on the 8th anniversary of Cities Skylines.

The game may come with Unreal Engine 5

Unfortunately, there is not much information about the game in the video shared from the official YouTube account of Cities Skylines. Paradox Interactive shared that details about the game will be announced on March 10, the 8th anniversary of Cities Skylines. However, according to some claims circulating on Reddit and 4Chan, Cities Skylines 2 can harness the power of Unreal Engine 5. It is also claimed that thousands of community plugins and mods prepared for the first game will be supported by the second game.

For those of you who don’t know, Cities Skylines is known as a realistic and detailed city building/management simulation. In fact, the game is so detailed that some schools in the USA and Europe even offer Introduction to Urban Planning lessons through this game.

It has been announced that Cities Skylines 2, which will be released in 2023, will come to PC, Xbox Series S/X and PlayStation 5. In addition, the game will take its place on Game Pass from the first day of its release.

There’s also a Sims rival from Paradox: Life By You

Paradox also announced that, not forgetting Sims lovers, they developed a life simulation called Life By You together with the studio, which is the producer of the old Sims games and Second Life game. It is stated that the game, which resembles Sims games at first glance, will have more detailed activities compared to Sims and the game will be much more realistic.

Although there is not much information about the game other than the announcement on the official YouTube channel of the game, Paradox announced that the gameplay video of the game will be published on the YouTube account of Life By You on March 20.
