Google is rolling out a feature where users can have more control over the Chrome OS operating system. Users will be able to turn off automatic updates in the operating system.
Users will be shown a warning notice
Like other operating systems, Chrome OS is receiving updates to fix a certain bug or introduce a new feature. A new feature that will be available in the operating system will bring a new option for updates that are only available automatically for now.
The option to turn off automatic updates, which is noticed by a change in Chrome OS codes, can currently be enabled via a flag. In a future update, the feature may be built-in.

Chromebook owners who want to use the feature can enable the flag via chrome://flags/#consumer-auto-update-toggle-allowed.
When users want to turn off automatic updating, a popup will show users a warning note as to why they should keep updates enabled. After the warning note, users can turn off automatic updates by confirming or cancel the current update cycle if they wish.
