Chrome, one of the most popular browsers in the world, is working to provide better experiences to its users. The company is preparing to launch Chrome 100, which is suitable for use in mobile pleasures. He wants to remove a feature that he has been using for a long time with this browser, deciding that it has no great function.

Until 8 years ago, mobile data was used in many parts of the world with limited quota and high fees. As such, users had to save more mobile data. As such, many platforms and applications have activated the data saving mode. Among them, it was featured on Google.

Chrome removes data-saving “Simple mode”

Google added a “Data Saver” mode in its Chrome browser for Android in 2014. This feature has been used by many users over time. The company renamed this feature to “Simple Mode” a few years ago.

However, it has started to be used rapidly and with high quota, especially in developed countries, with developing technology and investments. For this reason, the company plans to remove the Simple Mode feature in Chrome 100, which will be used on mobile devices. Chrome 100 will be available next month. Craig, Chrome’s Support Manager, explained the issue with these words.

With the release of Chrome M100 on stable channel on March 29, 2022, we will turn off Simple mode, a Chrome feature for Android that we introduced in 2014 as Chrome Data Saver to help users use less mobile data on their phones.

In recent years we have seen a decrease in the cost of mobile data in many countries and we have shipped many improvements to Chrome to further reduce data usage and improve web page loading. While simple mode is being discontinued, we are committed to ensuring that Chrome can deliver a fast web page loading experience on mobile devices.

Although it is used in many countries with low wages and high quotas, it is still quite costly in a substantial number of countries. In this case, it is already a matter of curiosity what kind of difference there will be in the number of users in countries with high fees and low quotas.
