Google Chrome is getting some major new features on the iPhone, and these are all free upgrades to the app already available in the App Store. Most of the new features are available starting today. Therefore, it is useful to check whether your application is using the latest version.

New features come to Chrome for iOS

There are four new features in total, and they will all be available on iPads as well. At the top of the list is the ability to see an address on Google Maps directly from within Chrome. Now users will be able to tap and hold any address that Chrome detects and then see a mini version of Google Maps without switching apps. The next new feature provides a faster and easier way to add new events to Google Calendar. Press and hold any detected date and you will have a chance to create a new calendar entry. Chrome will also speed up the process by automatically filling in the date and time.

When you visit a page in a foreign language, the in-app translation feature comes to the platform. Now, when you select the text, a new option will appear to translate that text in Google Translate. Tap it and you will see the translated text directly in Chrome without having to open any additional apps. Finally, Google says that a future update will, for the first time, allow people to search using their camera or any image in the Camera app. However, this feature is still months away.
