Well-known chips maker Lay’s has designed a machine for removing oil residue and potato chip crumbs from fingers. The device in yellow looks like a household washing machine, but in a greatly scaled-down form.

Finger washing machine measures 15.24 x 10.92 cm. After eating chips, you open the lid and insert your fingers and it is sterilized by spraying with an alcohol-based antiseptic. Let’s say that the battery-powered device is charged via the USB-C port.

Limited edition produced

The company produced only five of the finger washing machines. These will also be distributed through a lottery in Japan. It is not yet known whether the device, which was developed as an alternative to wet wipes, will be offered for sale in the future.
