A new military information leak is taking place on the War Thunder game forum. Previously, information about tanks belonging to the UK army was deciphered, now a similar scenario is experienced for Chinese military secrets. Allegedly, a War Thunder player shared secret military documents on the forum.
China’s anti-tank shell leaked on the War Thunder forum
Details of the anti-tank weapon used by the Chinese military surfaced on the War Thunder forum. In a statement made by defense industry researchers, documents related to anti-tank weapons were seen for the first time, apart from Chinese sources.
As the original content in the forum has been removed, it is not clear how the leak was made for now. However, some War Thunder fans are known to have a strong discussion on the forum. That’s why players with military secrets (usually retired soldiers) are in the leaks.
It was stated that the documents revealed in the War Thunder forum belong to the anti-tank projectile named DTC10-125. Its known features to date include drilling through metal and breaking through the interior of a tank.
The bullet can shatter the metal and disable the tank. For this reason, it was kept as a secret by the Chinese army until today. However, the forum leak showing the technical specifications of the bullet seems to match the information he gave to the Beijing administration.
According to the report in Polygon, the photo showing the DTC10-125 revealed the technical schematic of the ammunition as well as its projectile, also called sabot. The information has now been removed from the forum and the internet, but it is still thought to spread on social media shortly.
Chinese army is a sealed box, but this is not the first leak on the War Thunder forum. Technical details of the UK’s Challenger 2 tank have been leaked before. It even went viral that he wrote “top secret” in those images.
