China, the world’s second largest economy, has recently entered the struggle to establish its own space station, when the space race has intensified again, and has started working. In this context, taikonauts were regularly sent into space. Within the scope of the rapidly continuing studies, three more taikonauts reached China’s own space station last day.

According to the information shared by China, three taikonauts were launched on Monday at 05:44 CEST with a Long March-2F rocket from Jiuquan launch center in the Gobi desert of China. The astronauts entered the Tiangong Space Station at 15:50 CEST. It was announced that the journey of the astronauts took about 7 hours.

What will the Taykonauts do at the station?

China’s Tiangong Space Station is scheduled to be fully operational by the end of this year. Chen Dong, Liu Yang and Cai Xuzhe, the three taikonauts who have just arrived at the space station, will be responsible for connecting the station’s two lab modules with the station’s main body. It is aimed that the team will spend 6 months at the station and return to Earth in April.

China aims to establish its own base on the Moon as well as its own space station. His country plans to launch a manned mission to the Moon in 2029. In addition, the country continues its plans to send a spacecraft to Mars.

So why is China building its own space station?

China was banned from the International Space Station in 2011 after the United States banned NASA’s relations with China. Although the country is not currently partnering with any country for the station, it also stated that it is open to cooperation on this issue.
