China’s State Market Regulation Administration (Samr) is preparing to launch a comprehensive competition investigation into Apple’s App Store policies. Previously, the wage structure of the App Store was brought to the agenda many times. The new decision may respond to trade restrictions imposed by the United States on Chinese products.

Recitation on trade restrictions from China

One of the focal points of the investigation will be Apple’s 30 %commission for in -app purchases. In addition, restrictions on third -party payment systems and alternative application stores will be examined. Likewise, Chinese developers Tencent and ByTedance have long been criticizing Apple’s App Store policies for a long time, and argues that these policies adversely affect local competition and consumers.
