China National Space Administration (CNSA) vice president Wu Yanhua, during a statement on China Central Television (CCTV) that the country’s asteroid tracking and defense for our planet announced plans to build the system.
The first test could be in 2025
Yanhua shared some information about the system they plan to develop. The system will contain both ground- and space-based elements and will catalog and analyze asteroids to determine which ones pose a potential threat to Earth or humanity’s activities in space. The system will also include a computer simulation that will model potential asteroid impacts.

Global According to the Times, the system has not yet been approved by the Chinese authorities as it requires the coordination of multiple departments, but Yanhua announced in a statement that the system can be tested for the first time in 2025.
