Jin Zhuanglong, Minister of Industry and Information Technology of China, announced that they will accelerate the construction and deployment of 5G networks. The East Asian country, which is at the forefront of fifth-generation mobile communication technology, will also accelerate its 6G research and development efforts.According to the minister, China is currently at the forefront of 5G development. The country has already installed more than 2.54 million 5G base stations and the number of 5G supported smartphone users has exceeded 575 million. Jin said they will add 600,000 to the number of 5G base stations this year.
6G work is accelerating
The Minister of Industry and Information Technologies stated that 5G is used in more than half of major industrial sectors, including mining, ports, energy and aviation. He also called for expanding the application scope of super-fast wireless technology, especially in industry.
It is known that China has established a working group to conduct research on 6G. The IMT-2030 (6G) will be China’s flagship platform for the development of sixth-generation mobile communications technology and international cooperation. This will accelerate the development of 6G technology.
