Just hours before that, OpenAI introduced its new language model GPT-4. The new artificial intelligence model, which has a multi-modal structure, has received some very important improvements over its previous version, GPT-3.5. The artificial intelligence, which has been purified from its existing errors, now accepts visual inputs, making the usage scenario almost unlimited.
OpenAI, which owns artificial intelligence tools such as ChatGPT and Dall-E, has already deployed GPT-4. As we mentioned in our previous news, GPT-4 has been in Microsoft’s new Bing for a while. Now it’s available to everyone via a waiting list in the ChatGPT Plus version.
OpenAI prepared a demo event to show what the new GPT-4 can do, opening the door to unlimited usage scenarios. Whether or not you enter through this door is up to you, but the GPT-4 can clearly benefit you no matter what job you’re doing. On the other hand, warnings continue about the accuracy of the answers.
What can GPT-4 do?
GPT-4 is still far from being an artificial intelligence model and “artificial general intelligence” that we define as AGI. But that’s not a shortcoming, GPT-4 is an incredible “technology.” For example, it takes only 60 seconds to make Pong, one of the oldest arcade games made in 1972, with the GPT-4. From the model I just want to create a Pong-like game, what is the best language to do it? Also asking the query “I want to use Replit to build it” is enough to make a game. However, what can be done is not limited to this.
Could be a lawyer
In our previous news, we mentioned that an initiative called DoNotPay will serve as an artificial intelligence lawyer. Creating a case file with GPT-4 only takes a few minutes. In one example, ChatGPT, powered by GPT-4, is asked to file a federal lawsuit against someone making spam calls. It is also stated that the compensation requested in the case is 1500 dollars. In a few seconds ChatGPT gives you a case file.
From image to website
If that wasn’t impressive enough, there’s a use case OpenAI showed at its demo event. GPT-4 can turn a hand-drawn sketch on a small piece of paper into a functional website. Because, as we said above, GPT-4 can accept visual inputs. So by adding an image to the query, it’s possible to ask the model to do something similar or explain the image. A little joke website was made in this scenario.
Can make drug discoveries
GPT-4 also has a much more “exploratory” structure. For example, it is possible to ask GPT-4 to do a drug discovery. It is possible to give an existing drug to GPT-4 and demand that it find compounds with similar properties and also that they are not patented. An order form can even be created for the supply of found compounds. This feature is also a bad feature depending on the angle you look at it. It is possible for this feature to be used maliciously, but if it is used in accordance with ethical values, it is inevitable that great results will emerge.
GPT-4 can be your savior if you’re not good with contracts. One example asks for the shortcomings of the Ethereum contract, and the model highlights the shortcomings, areas that can be exploited, and possible ways to exploit in a matter of seconds.
Can improve dating apps
With GPT-4, more personalized, targeted ads seem to enter our lives. We actually see a small part of this in the example of a dating app. It is ensured that the users can analyze the data input and make the most accurate matching.
In conclusion, I cannot say that the GPT-4 is a radical innovation, but I can say that tons of things have been put on the GPT-3.5 model. Whether you’re making a Pong game, a snake game, a case file, or convert your sketch to a real website. The options are very wide.
On the other hand, some important vulnerabilities in previous versions have been fixed. Being more attentive to sensitive inquiries, GPT-4 is more free of prejudices and has reduced more violence. OpenAI also underlines that the new model is not perfect, so it is still possible to see harmful discourses. In addition, although there are improvements in the “accuracy of information” part, it is important to investigate the accuracy of the output and to consider that it may be wrong.
