After the publication of ChatGPT, a race began among technology giants regarding productive artificial intelligence. Google was one of the companies trying to get ahead of its competitors in this regard. The technology giant launched the chat bot called Bard on March 21. He had been bringing innovations to the model ever since.
The company announced that it has updated its artificial intelligence model in a blog post published yesterday. The new update brought many innovations to Bard.
Bard can now connect to Google applications and services
Bard will no longer be limited to just the responses he receives from the web. According to Google, with new extensions, the chat bot will be able to show you information from the Google services we use every day. These include popular services such as Docs, Gmail, Drive, Google Maps and YouTube.
Let’s give a few examples of the bot’s new capabilities. The artificial intelligence model will be able to provide directions for a trip you have planned and check flight and hotel information. Or, if you are going to apply for a new job, it will be able to find your resume from your Drive and even summarize this file. It will be possible to achieve all this in a single meeting.
We can guess that sharing such private information may create security concerns for users. Google states that it will not use the information to train Bard and that it will not be viewed by other people.
Bard Extensions are currently only available in English. There is no information about when it will come to other languages.
You will be able to check Bard’s answers
The innovations coming to Bard are not limited to these. The technology giant announced that Bard’s answers can be checked. The feature, which is also available in English, can be used with the “Google It” button, which allows searching on Google.
Thus, users will be able to see whether the chatbot’s answers match the information obtained from Google Search results. Verified parts will be shown in green, and unverified parts will be shown in orange. We know that artificial intelligence models have been criticized a lot for showing incorrect information. Therefore, we can say that Bard’s new feature may be useful.
Many already existing features have come to other languages

Finally, Google has expanded many features that were previously only available in English to 40 languages. These include features such as Video replies, working with Lens, and adjusting the length and shortness of replies.
