Microsoft has announced a major replacement for the ‘Your Phone’ app that lets you access your Android smartphone from your computer. The company announced in the blog post it shared that the name of the application has changed and the application has a new and more functional design.
According to the shared details, Your Phone will now be called Phone Link. Phone Connection, which received a major update after its release about 3 years ago, experienced a huge change in its interface as well as its name change. The application interface has now started to show the content and notifications that you will view on your phone at the same time.
What does the renewed application offer?
In its latest version, Your Phone application was showing the notifications received on your phone as long as you entered the ‘Notifications’ window. But with the change it experienced as Phone Connection, this page was fixed to the left part of the window. Photos, Apps, Messages, and Calls options have been moved to the top right of the app. In the new interface, the phone’s Do Not Disturb, Bluetooth, sound settings and audio player features and the section that shows the phone’s status remained the same.
Apart from these innovations, a feature that facilitates installation has been added to the Phone Connection application. Users will now be able to perform Phone Link applications with the next Windows 11 update simply by scanning a QR code.
