SMS, which stands for Short Message Service, means nostalgia for many users. Because, thanks to this technology, people reached the people they loved for years or got their job done. Knowing that SMS has a very special reputation, Google made an interesting move.

SMS is 30 years old!

In the related statement released by Google, it was stated that the end-to-end encryption feature for group chats will be added to the Messages application, which Android users are familiar with, very soon.

This feature has been used for one-on-one messaging for several years. End-to-end encryption is currently only available to people enrolled in the beta program and using the Messages app.

In addition to announcing that Google will activate the end-to-end encryption technology for group chats, it has been learned that soon the application called Messages will be able to reply its users to RCS (Rich Communication Services) messages with symbols (emojis).
Google stated that all major mobile operators and phone manufacturers except Apple have adopted RCS as a standard. Apple still does not take kindly to the RCS standard.

When iPhone users receive a text message from Android users, they continue to use the old infrastructure of SMS. Apple CEO Tim Cook says it will turn Android users into iPhone users.
