Drone technologies, which have developed rapidly in recent years, are also widely used in our country. According to the data of the General Directorate of Civil Aviation, there are more than 50 thousand drones and around 600 thousand drone pilots in Turkey so far.
Civil Aviation Authority has completed its studies on the use of unmanned aerial vehicles in cargo transportation. “Drone transport air corridor route” has been determined for the Istanbul-Eskişehir-Ankara line.
Unmanned cargo delivery to start in Turkey will be the first in the world
Studies on the use of drones for intercity cargo delivery in Turkey have been completed. According to the statement of the General Director of the Civil Aviation Authority, Kemal Yüksek, drone routes that will be 120 meters high between Istanbul-Ankara or Istanbul-Eskişehir have been determined.
It will be necessary to clarify which route will be followed, at what altitude and landing and take-off points in cargo transportation with drones. In modeling, which is the first in the world, Yüksek said, “This modeling will perhaps be the first in the world with their tracking system. Our aim here is to establish mechanisms that will pave the way for this, whether it is cargo transportation in certain activities or in other areas, and to establish mechanisms that will carry out the operation in a healthy way.”
