Cardano developer Input Output has released new test versions of the Daedalus wallet ahead of the highly anticipated Vasil upgrade.

The Vasil hard fork is considered one of the most critical updates for the Cardano network. With this update, it is expected that the scaling feature of the network will improve and become a more efficient platform. As Cardano continues its preparations for the big upgrade, it has also introduced something new for the Daedalus wallet.

Cardano Daedalus Wallet Test Release Open to Developers and Operators

Cardano describes its Daedalus wallet as a hierarchical deterministic (HD) desktop wallet with full node support for Cardano’s native coin, ADA.

New releases are currently only available to developers and share pool operators working on pre-production and preview test environments. The company claims this is one of its final steps towards the much anticipated Vasil upgrade.

According to the latest update released by Input Output, 85 percent of major validators are running on Vasil version 1.35.3.

Vasil’s upgrade, which has been delayed several times, with Daedalus as one of the steps on his path, is aimed to take place in September.
