Cardano founder criticizes ETC
In a recent tweet, a prominent Ethereum Classic supporter with the username “Sethccormack9” claimed that Hoskinson wanted to impose a 20 percent miner tax in order to “exploit” the network. “Charles Hoskinson wanted to impose a 20 percent miner tax on ETC for exploitation,” Sethccormack9 said. The comment didn’t quite fit Hoskinson, prompting him to comment publicly on the development. Hoskinson noted that the so-called tax is not a miner’s tax, as the Ethereum Classic advocate claims, but a sustainable development fund.
“I love how a sustainable development fund turned into a miner tax,” Hoskinson said. He added that it still upsets him that the Ethereum Classic network has not reached its full potential. Also, Hoskinson said that ETC is a dead project with no clear purpose for existence other than stubbornness. Hoskinson is known to always respond to issues that could damage his reputation or the Cardano project. Several times, he criticized top Blockchain projects that had previously criticized Cardano.
Hoskinson compared Solana to Nintendo
As reported on cryptokoin.com, Hoskinson compared Solana to an old Nintendo console when recommending a YouTube video that could fix the constant network congestion. Alongside Hoskinson, other core Cardano supporters also criticized the user for “falsely” accusing the founder of Cardano. “MarcoMeerman” says:
You lack love and positive attention because you attract attention by being negative. I’m not jealous of you, you must be going through a difficult time in your life.
ETC also criticized by others
Meanwhile, Hoskinson isn’t the only crypto enthusiast to have criticized Ethereum Classic lately. The project continued to be criticized for not reaching its full potential after the hard fork of the Ethereum network. However, not all crypto stakeholders believe Ethereum Classic is dead. With the Ethereum Merge upgrade nearby, many are waiting for another network hard fork to happen once ETH Merge is live. The belief is that miners will want to continue mining even after Ethereum transitions to a Proof-of-Stake algorithm consensus.
In July, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin urged ETH miners to switch to ETC after the Merge upgrade was finally shipped. He defined Ethereum Classic as: “It’s a very welcoming community and I think Proof-of-Work fans will be welcome […] It’s no joke. If you like Proof-of-Work, you should use Ethereum Classic. It’s a totally good chain,” he said.
