The legendary horror series Resident Evil has recently appeared with remakes, which are modern-day versions of the games. We saw the remake of Resident Evil 2 in 2019, 3 in 2020, and 4 in 2023. All these games were appreciated by the fans. Resident Evil 4 Remake was even nominated in the “Game of the Year” category at this year’s The Game Awards.
After the successful remakes, it was wondered whether developer Capcom had such plans for other games. The expected announcement came in an interview with IGN.
Remakes of other Resident Evil games will also come
Yasuhiro Anpo, the director of Resident Evil 4 Remake, spoke about possible remakes at an event in Japan. When asked if Capcom wanted to make more games like this, Anpo answered: “Yes. We’ve released three remakes so far and they’ve all been very well received. It’s something I love doing too, as it allows modern gamers to enjoy the series of games. “We want to make more remakes.”
The statement confirms that there will be a remake version of at least one of the other games in the series. However, Anpo does not share any information about what this game or games will be: “Which game we will release a remake of is something we want to announce in the future. So stay tuned.”
If we use straight logic, we can say that the next game to come as a remake will be Resident Evil 5. However, due to the game’s controversial content, Capcom may need to do major work. Other possibilities include the fan-requested Resident Evil Code: Veronica, which was released in 2000, the original Resident Evil, or Resident Evil 0. We will see later whether the new remake will be one of them.
