While the whole world has been waiting for the third game of the Half-Life series for years, in fact, another game was being developed in the Half-Life series, apart from the two main games. The game in question was developed by the French game studio Arkane, known today for Dishonored and Deathloop games, between 2005 and 2008, but it was not released.
The game, which we know very little about until today, has recently been on the agenda with a surprise video. A total of 1 hour of video has been released from the game called ‘Ravenholm’, which is planned to be the spin-off of the Half-Life series. This video, which is a movie for players and Half-Life fans, showed five episodes in the game.
Here is the gameplay video of the canceled Half-Life game Ravenholm
The video above is by Noclip, the game documentary channel 2020 It was obtained during the shooting of a different documentary prepared for Arkane, the developer of the game. Noclip finally decided to release those images that he had been hiding for two years.
The game is based on the setting in the ‘We Don’t Go To Ravenholm’ episode, which normally takes place in Half-Life 2, which includes some horror elements. This part, which we could not walk around to the fullest despite being very popular in Half Life 2, would probably have hosted tens of thousands of players if the spin-off game was released.
On the other hand, the game we see in the video above is not the finished production. The animations in the game were incomplete, the voiceovers were placed as placeholders, and the textures and models in the game were also completely undesigned. In fact, when one of the weapons in the game was used, the player’s hand was written ‘ WEAPON WILL COME HERE’.
