The free-to-play battle royale game Call of Duty: Warzone will soon have a mobile version. The game’s publisher, Activision, announced in a tweet that it is recruiting employees to work for new mobile roles.

The upcoming Warzone will be the second CoD game adapted for mobile, following the release of Call of Duty: Mobile in 2019. Warzone fans are probably still enjoying Season 2, which was released last month. Although Tom Henderson states that the game has already been added to Playtest Cloud, a testing platform for mobile games, the release date of the new mobile game has not yet been announced.

Fans of mobile games can expect more from the Activision universe. The mobile version of Diablo Immortal is in the testing phase and is expected to be released later this year. Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard, which is expected to close in fiscal 2023, will give Microsoft control of Activision’s hugely successful mobile gaming business.

The Santa Monica-based publisher aims to attract new customers with its Warzone mobile game during a turbulent time for the company. Activision is facing lawsuits over allegations of sexual misconduct and has fired or disciplined dozens of employees it considers guilty. The QA testers at Raven Software, the Wisconsin-based Activision studio behind the original Warzone, have also recently syndicated. Most of the new mobile roles Activision hires will serve at Activision Mobile, its in-house mobile game studio in Santa Monica, or Digital Legends, an Activision studio in Barcelona, Spain.
