Crypto wallet MetaMask has made major fixes to user privacy in its latest update. MetaMask users previously found their crypto wallets connected.

MetaMask Fixes Crypto Wallet Linking Issue

When MetaMask users previously connected to crypto applications, they could find all their accounts connected, even if they wanted to keep their accounts separate. Updated to now keep accounts separate when connecting to apps and even keep those links in separate browser tabs. The company made an announcement about this on its blog.

MetaMask used an example in an announcement about the update in a blog post:

“For example, when using Account 2 for your DeFi activities, you may want to use it as your ‘public’ account associated with your ENS. You can do this because they will no longer be connected to each other.”

The update also limits the amount of data sent to third-party services used to run the wallet extension. In this way, it is aimed to protect the privacy of users.

The company’s blog post stated that when someone sets up a wallet, they can choose any RPC provider instead of using Infura automatically. In addition, it is possible for users not to use Infura.
