The return of humans to the Moon is increasingly becoming a global race. While previous lunar voyages have involved collecting data on the satellite’s components, current plans are for very different purposes. While it is aimed for people to settle on the Moon and travel to Mars from there, Rolls-Royce wants to provide the necessary energy infrastructure with the nuclear reactors it plans to install on the Moon. This project of the company has now received the support of the British Space Agency.

Full support from the UK for Rolls-Royce’s Moon plans

The current £2.9 billion funding from the UK Space Agency is large and valuable for Rolls-Royce. Engineers and scientists at Rolls-Royce are working on a small-sized nuclear reactor. According to Rolls-Royce, this micro-reactor will be landed on the Moon by 2029. You can get more details from our news just below.

On the other hand, NASA plans to return to the Moon in 2025 with the Artemis III mission. In our previous news, we conveyed to you that the Artemis I mission was carried out unmanned. NASA plans to establish a base on the lunar surface with these missions. In the next ten years, we’ll probably start talking a lot more about lunar trips. It looks like voyages this time will include settling there. The US and UK, as well as Japan and China, are working on their own programs.
