The storm, which has been affecting many cities in our country since morning hours, has affected life in many ways. We had citizens who lost their lives and were injured, the roofs of the buildings were blown off, the planes could not land, sea voyages were cancelled. Then, with the news that came in the evening hours, it was announced that face-to-face education was suspended in schools in some provinces tomorrow.
Motorcouriers were among the people most affected by bad weather conditions. Motorbikes are banned from crossing the Bosphorus bridges in Istanbul due to the storm. In fact, the video of two metrobuses trying to protect motorcyclists from the storm on the 15 July Martyrs Bridge during the day also garnered a lot of reaction.
The expected statement from Getir came:
After the images circulating on social media, the fact that the motocouriers were working received a lot of reaction. Making a statement after the reactions, Getir announced that they suspended their motorcycle deliveries due to the danger. Getir stated that there will be no delivery by motor courier for a while, both in Istanbul and in other provinces where the impact of the storm was observed, and emphasized that they can only provide services limited to vehicles.
On the other hand, Yemeksepeti, which has not yet made a statement on this issue, was also on the agenda on Twitter. Twitter users criticized Yemeksepeti for the continuation of deliveries in this stormy weather that endangered the lives of motorcouriers.
