The Lightning input, which does not support new generation technologies and annoys many consumers, has come to an end. Apple, which has been pressured to use the USB-C port for years, will have to unplug the Lightning port. In the past weeks, the European Union; It has decided to make USB-C input mandatory for smartphones, tablets, headphones, portable consoles and laptops. After the EU, many US senators have started to work for USB-C to be mandatory. Now Brazil is starting to work on USB Type-C.
It’s almost time for us to see an iPhone with a USB-C port.
According to Tecnoblog’s report, the Brazilian Regulatory Authority (Anatel) has started working to make USB Type-C mandatory. However, according to the law proposed by Anatel, only smartphones will have to use the USB-C port. In addition, Anatel also stated that smartphones that can only charge wirelessly do not have to have USB-C.
Brazil’s bill will impress Apple the most, as almost all Android phones already have USB-C ports. Anatel’s bill is currently awaiting feedback from the public. Any citizen and technology firm is expected to express their opinion to Anatel about the USB-C bill, which will decide on August 26, 2022. The law, which will be decided after August, will prevent the sale of smartphones without USB-C ports after July 1, 2024, if passed.
