In a news we shared with you in the past days, we mentioned that we are working on a regulation to return the automobile market to normal, at least to stop cars from being an investment tool. Allegedly, new cars could not be sold for either 6 months or 5,000 kilometers after purchase. Now, there has been a new development on this subject. Trade Minister Mehmet Muş made official statements on the subject.

Meeting with journalists as part of an event held in Kayseri, Minister Muş said that the regulation on the automobile market is ready in general. Mentioning the details of the arrangement, Mehmet Muş has generally confirmed the allegations that have come to the fore in the past days.

The following is the statement made by the Minister of Commerce:

“You see, there are new and second-hand vehicle advertisements. Therefore, new vehicles are bought and sold with a larger figure. There is a situation that triggers each other in automobile prices. We have prepared the regulation. After the first registration, for companies, galleries and rental companies, it takes 6 months and 6 thousand kilometers. We impose restrictions on the sale of brand new vehicles they buy. Let those who really need it buy. So it will be second hand in real terms. If there are issues such as determining common prices in companies or manipulating the market, it is the task of the Competition Board and it opens an investigation, it examines it. If there is a mistake, it will close it, if not. We think that after the regulation is published, the citizens will have more access to the first hand. We will not be faced with an advertisement as second hand zero.”

The statement made by the Minister of Trade, Mehmet Muş, reveals that the regulation has now become final. However, let us remind you that any regulation on this subject has not yet come to the parliament or published in the Official Gazette.
