The biggest name in the technology world, Apple, is making the final touches for the iPhone 15 series. Leaking information about the new generation iPhones, which is expected to be introduced in September, continues to come. The latest report is about the battery technology of the series.
iPhone 15 will use stacked battery
The world of technology is developing rapidly. So much so that at the point where the devices come, it is of great importance that the batteries develop sufficiently. On the other hand, it is a matter of debate how well the batteries keep up with the developing technology. Apple also wants to boost the batteries of the best player in the smartphone world.
Previous leaks were that larger batteries would be used in the iPhone 15 series. It seems that Apple wants to make a big improvement in this area. According to a source called RgcloudS, known for its leaks in the smartphone world, the iPhone 15 will have stacked battery technology.
Promising lower heat and good battery life, the stacked battery has more cell counts in the same space. The technology emerges as a special method used in the assembly and packaging of battery cells. In a typical battery cell, the positive and negative electrodes are “wrapped” packed. In the stacked battery, it takes place in zig-zag layers as in the image. This fills the gaps with battery cells.
On the other hand, the new generation iPhone models will have a larger battery. A Foxconn employee also shared the battery capacities of the phones. Accordingly, the battery capacity of the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro will approach 4,000 mAh, while the 15 Pro Max and 15 Plus will push the limit of 5,000 mAh.
Here are the expected battery capacities;
iPhone 13: 3,227mAh | iPhone 14: 3,279mAh | iPhone 15: 3,877mAh |
iPhone 13 mini: 2,406mAh | iPhone 14 Plus: 4,325mAh | iPhone 15 Plus: 4,912mAh |
iPhone 13 Pro: 3,095mAh | iPhone 14 Pro: 3,200mAh | iPhone 15 Pro: 3,650mAh |
iPhone 13 Pro Max: 4,352mAh | iPhone 14 Pro Max: 4,323mAh | iPhone 15 Pro Max: 4,852mAh |
