When we say space, we awaken in our minds endless mysteries that we will never be able to solve. Interesting planets, stars and many other things that we have not even heard of before are hidden in space. Apart from what we know, we tried to go deep into space, which has millions of details and mysteries that we do not know. However, we also encountered planets with different characteristics.

Planets that are millions or even billions of kilometers away from our Earth arouse even more curiosity than the planets in our Solar System. Among these planets, there are a total of 10 potentially habitable planets, all ocean-covered planets. Of course, these are only what we know. Let’s take a look at this list of interesting planets with a great mystery.

Interesting and creepy planets:

Super Saturn
Gliese 581c
Gj 1214b
Gliese 436b
55 Cancri E
LINE-P-7b
PSDR J1719-1437b
HD 189773b
WASP-12b
Gliese 504b

J1407b or aka: Super Saturn

The planet J1407b, which is about 434 light-years away from our Earth and known for its resemblance to Saturn, has rings about 640 times the size of Saturn’s rings. Therefore, he is called Super Saturn. This planet is so big that if it were J1407b instead of Saturn, we would be able to see this planet’s rings easily when we look at the sky. There is a gap in the rings in the orbit of this planet, which is considered an exoplanet. Only another planet the size of Mars could fit in this space.

A planet where life can exist: Gliese 581c

Imagine a planet 192 trillion kilometers away from us. One side is hot enough to fry you in seconds, and the other side is cold enough to turn you into ice in seconds. With the mass of this planet 5 times greater than the earth and its radius 1.5 times greater, it is said that there may be life at the point that connects the two ends of the planet. Gliese 581c, one of the closest stars to Earth, can orbit the Earth once in 13 days.

A radio message was sent to this planet in 2008. The radio message sent will reach Gliese 581c in 2029, according to forecasts.

All-ocean planet: Gj 1214b

The planet Gj 1214b, which is completely covered with water and does not have a single piece of land, is 40 million light-years away from us. Time moves differently on this planet, which is 3 times the size of the Earth. It was discovered by Harvard after imaging it with a special telescope in Gj 1214b, which takes 38 hours to make a full revolution around the sun. The air temperature on the planet Gj 1214b is 230 degrees.

With a temperature of 439 degrees: Gliese 436b

Discovered by a research group in 2004 and observed in 2007, the planet Gliese 436b has a temperature of 439 degrees with its proximity to the sun. This planet, whose surface is completely covered with ice, is 15 times closer to the sun than Mercury. It is 30 light years from Earth. With a temperature of 439 degrees, this planet’s gravitational force is so high that it can compress water vapor. In this way, no matter how hot it is exposed to, its surface consists of a layer of ice.

Filled with diamonds: 55 Cancri E

Did you know that there is a mythical planet whose surface is mostly diamond? Located 40 light-years from Earth, 55 Cancri E is twice the size of Earth. The surface of this planet, whose mass is estimated to be mostly carbon, is covered with diamonds. With its extremely high surface temperature (2400°C), 55 Cancri E manages to complete one orbit in just 18 hours.

Planet raining rubies and sapphires: HAT-P-7b

On another planet as strange as a diamond-encrusted planet, HAT-P-7b. Because it’s raining rubies and sapphires in some parts of this planet. Aluminum oxide rains heavily on the night side of this planet, which is 1000 light-years away from our world. Known as the corundum precipitation, rubies and sapphires are found throughout most of the planet. Due to the intense wind on this planet, which is said to be devoid of life, raining rubies and sapphires have covered the night side of the planet.

Completed its orbit in just 2 hours: PSDR J1719-1437 b

The planet PSDR J1719-1437 b, which revolves around a K-type star, can complete its orbit in just 2 hours. This planet with a diameter of 19 kilometers revolves around a neutron star. The feature that makes this planet stand out is that it can complete its orbit quickly.

Planet exposed to high-speed glass wind: HD 189773b

The azure-looking planet HD 189773b is just one of those planets that are as dangerous as they look beautiful. This planet, which has a very strange atmosphere, has a wind speed 7 times faster than the speed of sound. However, the planet with glass rain encountered with this irresistible wind has a very dangerous atmosphere. On the planet HD 189883b, temperatures can rise above 900 degrees from time to time.

Unlighted and extremely hot planet: WASP-12b

In our previous article, we talked about the planet with a deep blue appearance. Now we’re going to talk about a planet darker than asphalt. The planet WASP-12b, which is completely dark and extremely hot, has the ability to capture the light of the star it orbits, although it has no light at all. Capturing 94 percent of the light of the star it orbits, this planet has a temperature of 8,312 degrees. This planet, which orbits once a day, is called hot Jupiter.

A newly formed pink planet: Gliese 504 b

The planet Gliese 504 b, one of the brightest members of the Virgo constellation, draws attention with its color. This planet, which has a very long orbital distance, is 57 light years from our earth. The temperature of the planet is 6000 degrees Celsius.

We have listed the planets that attract attention with their different features and appearances, sometimes intriguing and sometimes terrifying. So what do you guys think about these planets and space? Do not forget to express your views in the comments.
