WhatsApp won the appreciation of users by increasing the participant limit in groups to 512 recently. The popular instant messaging application is now developing a feature that will help those who miss incoming calls.
With iOS 15, a feature called Focus Mode came to iPhones. Users can determine whether they will receive notifications while they are sleeping, depending on whether they are at home or at work. WhatsApp, which started to support Focus Mode in January, will take it a step further and now support the Do Not Disturb API.
WhatsApp will report incoming calls when Do Not Disturb is turned on
With the new update that only concerns iPhones with iOS 15, WhatsApp will know if Do Not Disturb is turned on. This feature allows incoming calls, messages and notifications to be muted.
From now on, WhatsApp will notify the user of calls turned off by Do Not Disturb with the note “Silenced by Do Not Disturb”. The feature, which is still under development, is now available to users of the beta version of WhatsApp. It remains unclear when it will be made available to the general public.
On the other hand, it is worth noting that this information is not shared with WhatsApp or the caller, it is only saved in the local database of the application. Also, since the Do Not Disturb API is available in iOS 15, the new feature will not work on lower version iPhones.
While mobile applications such as WhatsApp, which are used almost every day, are constantly in pursuit of innovation, operating systems continue to be updated. Google officially introduced Android 13 at its event in May. Apple also introduced iOS 16 at the WWDC22 conference. Both versions will enter our lives in the coming months.
