Blue Ghost went down to the Moon and shared the first world photo: Everyone is in one frame
There was a historical moment in commercial space research. Firefly Aerospace’s private Blue Ghost landing vehicle successfully landed on the moon surface and sent the first images that reveal the fascinating view of the Earth. This important landing on 2 March was completed when Blue Ghost successfully achieved the Mare Crisium (Crisis Sea) region. Blue Ghost was the second private spacecraft that landed on the moon surface.

Developed by Firefly Aerospace, the landing vehicle was located just 100 meters from the target area and made a high -precision upwarding. During the landing, Blue Ghost’s advanced danger prevention system activated and landed at a safe point, avoiding two large rocks on the surface.

The first images that Blue Ghost conveyed shortly after landing is tremendous. For the visuals showing the pale blue point in the distant, the Earth, we were interpreted as iz We are all in this picture ”.

The visuals in the content were transmitted by the S-Band antennas of the vehicle. In a statement, the X-Band antenna was successfully deployed. In this way, higher resolution images and videos can be transmitted to the Earth quickly.

On the other hand, Blue Ghost has started its scientific studies on the surface of the moon, which will last for a total of 14 days (one full month day). In this process, important data will be collected through 10 scientific burdens in the vehicle. This mission is carried out as part of NASA’s Commercial Lunar Payload Services (CLPS) ”Commercial Moon Load Services (CLPS) program. Within the scope of the task, critical data such as the radiation environment on the Moon, the regolite (moon soil) and the solar wind will be examined.

One of the most remarkable moments of the task will be experienced on March 14th. Blue Ghost will record a full solar eclipse by looking at Earth from the Moon. At the same time, from the Earth, the moon will be completely darkened and will take on a red color called ‘Bloody Moon’.

In addition, on March 16, Blue Ghost will record the sunset on the Moon and examine how the moon powders rise depending on the solar activity. This phenomenon was first observed during the Apollo 17 mission and still carries a great mystery for scientists.

Blue Ghost’s journey is not just a landing. During his 45 -day trip, the spacecraft traveled approximately 4.5 million kilometers, transferred 27 GB data, and made important radiation measurements as he passed through Van Allen Generations. Firefly, who left behind the most difficult part, will now focus on completing surface operations and gathering valuable information for commercial lunar tasks.
