Epic Games, the developer of the popular Battle Royale game Fornite, supported the subsidiary of Animoca Brands for the racing game ready to be released.
The rapidly developing blockchain technology continues to create infrastructure for many innovations. Many traditional and modern works come together. One of the freshest examples of this is the traditional video game developer Epic Games and game software developer Animoca joining forces for a blockchain-based game.
Subsidiary of Animoca Brands, Blockchain Support for Fortnite Developer
Australian indie game developer Grease Monkey Games, a subsidiary of Animoca Brands, has received financial support from video game giant Epic Games to develop a new blockchain-based motorsports game.
Supported by Epic Games’ MegaGrant fund, Grease Monkey Games will be powered by the Unreal Engine game engine for the racing and P2E (Play To Earn) game called Torque Drift 2.
In the game, players will create their own garages using NFT parts, cars, stickers and special items. They will also be able to create their own modified car NFTs which can then be shared and sold on the Torque Drift 2 market.
Torque Drift 2, a drifting game based on motorsports, is expected to be introduced from the third quarter of 2022.
