The Blockchain Association says New York’s 2-year mining ban will ‘not reduce carbon emissions’.
Blockchain Association, whose mission is to change public policy towards crypto in the US, recently spoke about the PoW mining moratorium that passed the New York Senate. Deputy Managing Director Jake Chervinsky said that despite the “anti-Bitcoin wing” in the region, the ban “will not help reduce carbon emissions by a single ounce.” According to him, the ban “has zero impact on emissions.”
On the other hand, he said that the ban would have the negative effect of pushing miners elsewhere:
Chervinsky also urged Governor Kathy Hochul to veto the bill.
